Commercial Disinfecting Services in Dayton, OH
Final Touch Cleaning Services provides commercial disinfecting across Dayton and the Miami Valley, either as a one off response or as an add on to an existing cleaning contract. Offices, medical and dental practices, schools, gyms, retail and shared workspaces.
Disinfecting is not the same as cleaning, and the difference matters when you are deciding what you actually need. The section below explains it plainly, because most people asking for this are not sure which one they are buying.
We use EPA certified Buckeye products, which gives you a straight answer when a tenant, a parent or a compliance officer asks what was used in the building.

Cleaning versus disinfecting
Two different jobs, often sold as if they were one. Here is the plain version.
Cleaning removes
Cleaning lifts dirt, dust and grime off a surface. It takes a lot of germs with it simply by removing what they are sitting in, but that is a side effect rather than the point.
Disinfecting kills
Disinfecting applies a product that kills what is left on the surface after cleaning. It needs the surface to be clean first, and it needs time on the surface to work.
Which you need
For day to day hygiene, regular cleaning is what keeps a building right. Disinfecting is for after an illness in the building, through cold and flu season, before reopening a space, or where regulation or reassurance demands it.
Electrostatic spraying
An electrostatic sprayer puts a charge on the droplets as they leave the nozzle. Charged droplets are attracted to surfaces and wrap around them, so the back of a chair arm, the underside of a desk and the far side of a door handle get covered as well as the face of them.
A cloth only reaches what someone remembers to wipe. In a room full of chairs, keyboards, handles and switches that is a lot of surface area and a lot of chances to miss one. Spraying covers the room in a fraction of the time and does not depend on anybody’s memory.
It suits open offices, classrooms, waiting rooms, gyms, changing rooms and anywhere with a lot of shared touch points. For small, targeted areas a wipe down is still the right tool, and we will say so rather than sell you a machine you do not need.

Where we disinfect
Offices and shared desks
Hot desks, meeting rooms, kitchens and washrooms. The places a whole floor touches in a day.
Medical and dental practices
Waiting rooms, treatment rooms and patient washrooms, alongside the regular clean covered on our medical and dental cleaning page.
Schools and childcare
Classrooms, cafeterias, gyms and restrooms, scheduled into the school day or the holidays.
Gyms and studios
Equipment, mats, changing rooms and showers. High contact, high humidity, high turnover of people.
Retail and food premises
Shop floors, fitting rooms, counters, staff areas and shared kitchens.
Shared residential spaces
Lobbies, lifts, laundry rooms and gyms in apartment buildings, where one case spreads quickly.
When businesses call us
Most of the calls we get for disinfecting fall into one of these five.
After a confirmed illness in the building
Somebody has been off sick and the rest of the team is nervous. This is the most common call and usually the most urgent.
Through cold and flu season
A booked series of visits through the winter months rather than one reactive panic. Cheaper and more effective than waiting.
Before reopening a space
A floor that has been shut, a unit that has been empty, or a building coming back into use after a quiet period.
A new tenant moving in
Handing over a space that has been treated, which is increasingly something tenants ask for in writing.
As a regular add on to a cleaning contract
Monthly or quarterly disinfecting built into an existing scope, so it happens without anybody having to remember to book it.
Tell us the size of the space and what has happened. For urgent work after illness in a building we will give you a real date on the call.
Request a visitHow a visit works
1. Walkthrough or a phone call
For a one off we can usually scope it on the phone from the room count and the floor area. For a contract add on we walk it with you.
2. Surfaces treated
Surfaces are cleaned first where needed, then treated. Hard surfaces, touch points, and soft furnishings where the product allows it.
3. Dwell time
The product has to stay wet on the surface for a set time to work. That time is part of the job and we do not cut it short.
4. Back in use
For most office and classroom work the space is ready once surfaces are dry. We will tell you the number before we start so you can plan around it, and staff do not normally need to be out of the building unless the space is small and enclosed.
Areas we cover
Disinfecting is available across the whole service area, and for urgent work we will tell you honestly how quickly we can reach you.
Disinfecting sits alongside the rest of our commercial cleaning work and can be added to any existing contract. See also school and campus cleaning and medical and dental office cleaning, where disinfecting is often part of the regular scope rather than a separate visit.
Questions we get asked
What is the difference between cleaning and disinfecting?
Cleaning removes dirt and grime from a surface. Disinfecting applies a product that kills what is left on the surface afterwards. Disinfecting works properly only on a surface that has been cleaned first, which is why the two usually happen together rather than instead of each other.
What is electrostatic disinfecting?
The sprayer puts an electrical charge on the droplets, which makes them cling to surfaces and wrap around them. That means the back and underside of an object get covered as well as the face of it, so you are not relying on somebody remembering to wipe every side of every chair.
How long does the area need to stay empty afterwards?
For most office and classroom work, until surfaces are dry. We will give you the number before we start so you can plan around it. For small enclosed spaces it can be longer, and we will say so rather than leave you guessing.
Is it safe around staff, children and pets?
We use EPA certified Buckeye products and apply them the way the manufacturer specifies. The space is clear during application and for the dwell time, and is ready to use once surfaces are dry. If you have a specific concern, tell us at the booking and we will tell you exactly what is being used.
Can you disinfect after a confirmed illness in the building?
Yes, and this is the most common reason people call us. Tell us which areas the person used and we will scope it around that rather than treating the whole building at full cost for no reason.
Can disinfecting be added to our regular cleaning contract?
Yes. Monthly or quarterly disinfecting can be written into an existing scope so it happens on schedule without anybody having to remember to book it. That works out cheaper than reactive visits.
